Northpoint Community Chapel was formed in the Fall of 2023 and is located in N76, In the Northpoint area of Sun City, Texas. Northpoint will soon have a larger population than over 600 Texas towns,

The chapel is located at 103 Nightwoods Lane, the home of Minister Chaplain Michael Meccia and his wife Donna.

The chapel is interdenominational, non-sectarian and interfaith. We live according to the Golden Rule and agree on the essentials of faith and don't debate the non-essentials.  We value authentic and loving relationships with our neighbors more than religious doctrine and ceremony. We are tolerant of people's spiritual worldviews that may differ from ours, while holding fast to our beliefs.

No matter where you are in your personal journey of faith, you will find a welcoming place among friends and neighbors at the chapel.

Our Partner - Helping Hands Food Bank of Georgetown

We are currently building up our team of disciples to spread the Good News to our neighbors. While minister/chaplain Michael is the current pastor at the chapel, his goal is to equip all members to be ministers; learning from each other and teaching each other, breaking down barriers with a spirit of humility, grace and love. (Ephesians 4:11-13)

 We are also seeking:
A Kingdom husband and wife team who have been called to be servant leaders (deacon / deaconess) and organize a Pricilla Circle for women and an Aquila Circle for men in the Northpoint neighborhoods. These circles are open to all who live in N67-N80 neighborhoods.
(1 Peter 5:1-4; Romans 16:3).

Discern the role that you are called to use the extraordinary power of your spiritual gifts in service to others (Hebrews 2:4).

In preparation for a homeless veteran stand down in Killeen on 9 March, the chapel is collecting gently used clothing and new items such as socks, underwear, and personal care items to be distributed to the homeless veterans of central Texas. A full list of needed items can be found at https://www.osdct.org/needs.

A bin to drop off your donated items is located on the front porch of the chapel at 103 Nightwoods Ln in N76. The Spring stand down event will be held on 9 March at the Killeen Civic Center.

What is a veteran stand down?

Stand downs events provide supplies and services to homeless Veterans, such as food, shelter, clothing, health screenings,  VA and Social Security benefits counseling. Veterans can also receive referrals for other assistance such as health care, housing solutions, employment, substance use treatment and mental health counseling.

Stand downs are collaborative events, coordinated between local VA Medical Centers, the Department of Labor, other government agencies, community-based homeless services providers and local charitable organizations like OSDCT.ORG

One of the heartbreaks of grandparenting is when circumstance causes you to be apart from your grandchildren for long periods of time. Perhaps they live far away, or maybe a strained relationship is the cause. Or perhaps the global health crisis prevented you from visiting your grandchildren for a long period of time. The Legacy Coalition is for grandparents, by grandparents, providing tools and training to help you create strong bonds with your grandchildren, and assist your children in raising them with the knowledge that they are children of God.

No matter the reason, we partner with the Legacy Coalition because they have some great ideas on how to grow those relationships and keep them strong. Check out their free ebook, Shorten the Distance Between You and Your Grandchildren.

The chapel will start a small group in early '24 for grandparents, helping to equip them in loving support of their grandchildren as they start their life's journey of faith. Our partnership with the Legacy Coalition provides us with access to the teaching videos from their 2023 annual converence for the grandparents group to view in the chapel. The Disciples Circle is a fellowship of the Believers (Acts 2: 42-47); men and women who have a personal relationship with Jesus Christ. All are welcome to participate and to love, learn, and lead.

Chapel membership is available, but not required, for anyone who would like to make the chapel their spiritual home. This is a local neighborhood community, we don't compete for members with traditional churches. There are no collections of money, we only ask members for the free will offering of their time and talents to support the work of the chapel for the benefit of our community.

All are welcome at Northpoint Community Chapel

We promote connections between neighbors with the goal of establishing relationships with each other. We can then serve our neighbors by fulfilling people's needs in the larger communities of Sun City and Williamson County.

    Coming events in December

    December 15-22: Neighborhood Caroling.

Teams of 3-4 carolers from N67-N80 to visit their neighbors homes in early evening to greet and sing two-three verses of several seasonal songs for their neighbors, such as 'Jingle Bells',  'Deck the Halls' and 'Silent Night'. Dress warm, and pick up gift bags at the chapel before you go out for the number of neighbors you expect to entertain each night you go caroling.
